1. Question: How does digital health coaching work?

Answer: Digital health coaching is a revolutionary new way to get the customized, interactive support that is so important to helping adopt new healthy behaviors. First, you take the health assessment. Then, you complete an online consultation where you enter information about your health priorities, what has worked for you in the past and what is holding you back. Based on your answers, a tailored coaching plan is developed just for you. The process is interactive and has a proven track record.

2. Question: How do I sign up for digital health coaching?

Answer: To sign up for digital health coaching, you have to first complete the health assessment. After taking the assessment, you can immediately sign up for digital health coaching.

There are two ways you can access digital health coaching after you have completed the health assessment questionnaire:

    1. Go to the end of your Succeed Plan under "Enroll in Additional MyHealthMedia programs." Click on one of the programs in the list underneath. These are the names of the digital health coaching programs.
    2. You can also access digital health coaching by clicking on the gray tab at the top of the screen that says "Coaching."

3. Question: Can I participate in digital health coaching if I don’t take the health assessment?

Answer: No. The digital health coaching program relies on information you provide in the health assessment. You must take that first in order to participate in digital health coaching.

4. Question: Can I connect with a "live" person if I use digital health coaching?

Answer: No. Digital health coaching is a virtual, online experience that is highly tailored to the information you provide in the online consultation. Because digital health coaching is online, you can access it at any time of night or day.

5. Question: The digital health coaching program references a "check-in evaluation?" What is that and how does it occur?

Answer: From time to time you will receive email follow-ups from the HealthMedia digital health coaching program.

6. Question: I have a Kaiser medical plan and took the Kaiser health assessment. Can I participate in the digital health coaching through HealthMedia?

Answer: Yes, Kaiser offers its own health assessment and digital health coaching through HealthMedia.  You may access the Kaiser program from the SISC Health Smarts portal. The awards for participating are slightly different—you receive a $50 award card for taking the health assessment and a $25 award card for participating in at least one digital health coaching session. You must complete the activities by June 1, 2010.

7. Question: I did not choose to participate in digital health coaching right after I took the health assessment. Can I go in and complete the digital health coaching at another time?

Answer: Yes. You will log in to the Health Smarts portal and the MyHealthMedia digital health coaching screen will appear. Click "Sign-up." You will then be directed to the MyHealthMedia Welcome Page—click "Next."

8. Question: What is the "plan" that I receive after going through my digital heath coaching consultation? Is that the same thing as my "personal guide" that I received after taking the health assessment?

Answer: The "personal guide" is the health report you receive after completing your health assessment questionnaire. The digital health coaching plan you receive after you complete your digital health consultation is different.

9. Question: How do I print off my digital health coaching plan?

Answer: To print off your digital health coaching plan, click "Printer-friendly plan" on the left navigation.

10. Question: Can I participate in digital health coaching before I take the health assessment?

Answer: No. You must first complete the health assessment questionnaire in order to participate in digital health coaching.

11. Question: When I click the Coaching tab I get a screen that says "How Can We Help You" that shows all of the HealthMedia digital health coaching programs. The first program that says "Understand My Health Risks" has a tab on it that says "in process." Is this referring to my health assessment and is that also considered a digital health coaching program?

Answer: HealthMedia shows all of their programs on the web page entitled "How Can We Help You." One of the programs they offer is the health assessment and it is shown as "Understand My Health Risks." The reason the tab says "in process" is that you have not closed your browser since taking the health assessment. The next time you log in, the tab will say "completed."

SISC considers the health assessment to be a distinct program and not part of digital health coaching. Digital health coaching is a separate feature. Participants who complete the activities before June 1, 2010 will receive a $40 award for completing the health assessment and a $30 award for engaging in digital health coaching.  Kaiser participants receive a $50 award for completing the health assessment and a $25 award for completing one digital health coaching session.

12. Question: Is there an incentive for participating in digital health coaching?

Answer: Yes. You are eligible to receive a $30 award for completing your digital health coaching questionnaire, submitting it and clicking "I’m committed" when the system asks if you will agree to a two-week commitment. If you are a Kaiser participant you will receive a $25 award.

13. Question: If I participate in more than one coaching session do I receive a $30 award card for each session?

Answer: No. You are eligible to receive one $30 award for engaging in coaching. You can participate in as many coaching sessions as you want, however, you are only eligible to receive one $30 award. If you are a Kaiser participant you will receive a $25 award.

14. Question: If I participate in digital health coaching, what triggers the payment of my cash award card?

Answer: You are eligible to receive a $30 award ($25 for Kaiser participants) for completing your digital health coaching questionnaire, submitting it and clicking "I’m committed" when the system asks if you will agree to a two-week commitment.
